God given authority in His Church.

The Catholic Church, which is Christ's Church, has made it mandatory that we go to Mass on Sunday. Whether we decide Jesus wanted us to go to Church weekly or not, Catholic leaders have decided for us that we will. Jesus puts a great deal of God given authority into His Jewish Church leaders. Jesus knows the evil leaders of the Jewish Church, of which He is a member, are going to murder Him. Still, Jesus tells us that no matter how evil or wrong, the people of His day, think Jewish Church leaders are, the people are still obligated to obey what Jewish Church leaders tell them to do. Jesus Himself, many times, tells us how evil Jewish Church leaders are.

I am not trying to tell you that our Catholic Leaders are evil. What I am trying to tell you is that Catholic Church leaders are Christ's authorized Church leaders of today. Jesus goes to extremes to tell us that God authorized Church leaders are to be obeyed. What would be the sense of Jesus making St. Peter, our first pope, and the other eleven Apostles, our Bishops, leaders over His Flock, unless He also requires His Flock to follow their leadership. The Church demands that we go to Mass on Sundays. It is our obligation to Jesus, through His authorized Church leaders, to do so.

Though God's Commandment to keep Holy the Sabbath seems to focus on not doing any work on Sunday, one would have to imagine that God also wants us to go to Mass on Sunday, in observance of His Commandment.

NAB2 MAT 23:2

Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples, saying, “The scribes and the Pharisees have taken their seat on the chair of Moses. Therefore, do and observe all things whatsoever they tell you, but do not follow their example. For they preach but they do not practice.

That's only the legality. The reason for the legality is that we need to be spiritually fed--just as we need to be physically fed--if we are to live.

We need to be connected to a power source to be a "light for all". The conduit for that "power source" is the Church--listening to the Bible, partaking in Jesus' Body and Blood (in it's pure form as noted in Malachi 1:11 ), fellowshipping, giving and receiving help.

when you are actually Born again-- the bible - the ceremonies- the fellowship -- become real-- and how to say it -- fun-- your spirit gets hungry for the anointed presence of the word and the spirit --

the bible is an odd book if you are not born again-- and so why bother-- because you are "naturally minded" and it is foolishness
